title: First day of a new chapter Today's the first day at TKPS! First impression of the school, international school. Half of the population of the students are not local. This school also reminds me of Jurong Primary. When I first saw the canteen and the hall, it brought back memories when my class had Microteaching there.
Was early today - good start. (Y) Felt so different when I stepped into my first relief class. P3s and again, half of them are not locals. So I was like a friendly teacher when speaking to them, but at the same time I must remember that respect and attention from the kids are most important. So if one student talks, I'll stop and wait for him to finish. And that class was pretty awesome - they knew what it meant when I kept quiet. (Y) Second half of the relief was P4s. Need I say more? Half of them are not locals. This time, I had to read a context in Mandarin and explaining to them in english. But I could tell that this class is one of the tail-end classes. Last class was a P6 class. The best and only HCL class in the school. This class' students speak in Mandarin, no kidding. Back in my TP school, the kids in the best class speaks English even if it's Chinese class. I was pretty amazed by this non-local-Dubai-born Indian girl. She is pretty cool coz her Mandarin is probably better than Jemmo's. Heh. So there you have it. My first day. Many more days to come! And I hope everything will be good!
