title: First day of a new chapter Today's the first day at TKPS! First impression of the school, international school. Half of the population of the students are not local. This school also reminds me of Jurong Primary. When I first saw the canteen and the hall, it brought back memories when my class had Microteaching there.
Was early today - good start. (Y) Felt so different when I stepped into my first relief class. P3s and again, half of them are not locals. So I was like a friendly teacher when speaking to them, but at the same time I must remember that respect and attention from the kids are most important. So if one student talks, I'll stop and wait for him to finish. And that class was pretty awesome - they knew what it meant when I kept quiet. (Y) Second half of the relief was P4s. Need I say more? Half of them are not locals. This time, I had to read a context in Mandarin and explaining to them in english. But I could tell that this class is one of the tail-end classes. Last class was a P6 class. The best and only HCL class in the school. This class' students speak in Mandarin, no kidding. Back in my TP school, the kids in the best class speaks English even if it's Chinese class. I was pretty amazed by this non-local-Dubai-born Indian girl. She is pretty cool coz her Mandarin is probably better than Jemmo's. Heh. So there you have it. My first day. Many more days to come! And I hope everything will be good! All the best to my class as well! |

title: Posting! Finally I called MOE, and got my posting! So I'll be posted for 3 years to.........................
Tanjong Katong Primary School! According to Jen and Fahimah, it's a good school! and did I mention that their niche is Netball, Soccer and Hockey! Coincidentally they're all the modules I took in Year 2.1 hahaha. And the school had some modular CCAs for each semester, and Rock Climbing was offered as 1 of the CCAs! Damn, missed it by just a tiny bit. Din told me that his soccer kakis are in that school, and he would pretty much prefer going there as well as compared to my current TP school (not anymore in less than 24hours' time). What's happening to my school! Oh wells. I'm glad I'm heading to a new school with a handful of positive feedback of that school. Time to try some new canteen food! Hopefully they're yummy. Anw my P4 kids made me a farewell vanguard card today! Awww! What a wonderful class of monkeys. Really love teaching them PE and Math. Sigh I hope they will remember me even after I'm gone! Hahaha. Alrights looking forward to an early dismissal tomorrow as our school is chosen to be one of the polling stations! \o/ last day of TP + early dismissal! |
